Erasmus+ is the EU’s programme to support education, training, youth and sport in Europe. Its budget provides opportunities for over 4 million Europeans to study, train, and gain experience abroad. We are glad that the application of our school was accepted so we can benefit from this amazing opportunity the EU offers.
Our project is called “SMiLE”. It is the acronym of our project title “Shaping my Lifestyle” and it refers to the geographical location of the participating countries on the map as well. Together with our partners from Sweden, France and Spain we have signed up for a two-year-partnership which allows our students to work together internationally always related to the topic “climate change”.
Our goal is not only to improve the language skills of the participants, but also the understanding of different cultures. Experience has shown that by participating in the workshops, the students train their intercultural competence, overcome insecurities of communicating in foreign languages, gain self-confidence and become more independent. The experience of belonging together regardless of origin or nationality is intense and will accompany the young people throughout their lives.
Climate change is here, and it’s causing a wide range of impacts that will affect every human on Earth in increasingly severe ways. We are proud that our students can say “we got involved, we worked hard on an international level to fight climate change and show ways what every individual can do to take part in this important and live changing movement.”
